Introducing the Wooden Sound Cylinders, new to The Inspector Play Kit for months 7 and 8

Starting sometime between 5 and 8 months of age, your child may start to repeatedly shake and bang toys to make sounds. The Wooden Sound Cylinders, a brand- new addition to The Inspector Play Kit, help your child explore similarities and differences between sounds through cause-and-effect play. Discover different sounds

Each Wooden Sound Cylinder makes a unique noise when shaken or rolled. This gives your baby a fun way to practise telling two sounds apart, a skill child development experts call “auditory discrimination.” Practising this skill helps your baby hear the distinct sounds within words, an important part of understanding language and learning to speak.

Encourage rolling, scooting, and crawling

Placing the Wooden Sound Cylinders just out of reach can motivate your baby to roll, scoot, or even crawl. Each cylinder provides visual stimulation to get your baby moving in all sorts of ways.
